Tenet 5: Express Our Sexuality, Sexual Orientation, and Gender Freely
Information
NYS Comprehensive Sex Education Bill
From the Senate bill, “Currently, New York does not instruct students in medically accurate, age appropriate comprehensive sexual education. Instruction in sexual education results in improved educational outcomes for students. A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention analysis of social-emotional skills program led to significant reduction in dropout rates. Studies have also found that students who receive comprehensive sexuality education delay the initiation and reduce the frequency of sexual intercourse, have fewer sexual partners, and practice safe sex.”
